Celestial Ripples — Corporeal Rhythms
14.06.2024-07.07.2024
Group show with Anu Ramdas, Nanna Debois Buhl and Helena Fernández-Cavada at inter.pblc in Copenhagen.
The exhibition is a result of the ongoing project Within and Beyond - Embodied Planetary Cycles run by Sara Rossling and SixtyEight Art Institute. The first gathering with artists and curators on Ven at the beginning of May was followed up in June by an exhibition in Copenhagen, which presented some of the project's ideas and the work of the involved artists to the public. It was the first of several public presentations, in which artists, researchers and curators share knowledge and develop work that reflects on the circadian rhythm, seasonal cycles, and how these affect our bodies and behaviours. Anu Ramdas and Helena Fernández-Cavada, who participated in the workshop on Ven, were joined in the exhibition by Nanna Debois Buhl.
Celestial Ripples — Corporeal Rhythms showed new and existing works. Independently through their various practices, Nanna Debois Buhl, Helena Fernández-Cavada, and Anu Ramdas deal with the human in relation to the cosmos, such as the limits our sensory apparatus place on our experience of the universe and how we are able to know it. At the same time, they explore our ability to feel connectedness to the cosmos as a larger ecology, and how planetary movement creates cycles that inform our notion of time and affect our corporeal rhythms.
The exhibition is supported by Ny Carlsbergfondet, Augustinus Fonden, and Rådet for Visuel Kunst. The project as a whole has received support from Nordic Culture Point and Nordic Cultural Fund
Curators: Sara Rossling, Christopher Sand-Iversen and Rebekka Elisabeth Anker-Møller from SixtyEight Art Institute.
